These lyrics completely reflect what I feel about cheap come ons!

If you can afford me by Katy Perry

If you want me, a cherry on top, the pick of the peck,
The crème de la crop.
If you want me you better do better than that tonight.
Oh, Oh.
If you want me, it takes more than a wink,
And more than a twink and more than you think.
If you want me you're gunna have to break the bank, tonight.
Cuz some don't have the patience, some call me high-maintenance
But you pay the bill, cuz, that's the deal.

If you wanna ride, just name your price don't play cheap, with your heart
Don't make a bet if you can't write the check, for me, for me.
Cuz I can be bought, but you'll pay the cost
If you can afford me

If you want me, I'm not a piece of ass, a one night stand, a storage ship
I think you better walk by, tonight
Oh, no.
If you want me, then stop begging I don't put out for charity
If you want me there's no discount price tonight
But I don't need your dollar bills I just want something real
Cuz, nothing's free, except a lovin' me

If you wanna ride, just name your price don't play cheap, with your heart
Don't make a bet if you can't write the check, for me, for me.
Cuz I can be bought, but you'll pay the cost
If you can afford me

If you want me, a cherry on top,
The pick of the peck, the crème de la crop

If you wanna ride, just name your price don't play cheap, with your heart
Don't make a bet if you can't write the check, for me, for me.
Cuz I can be bought, but you'll pay the cost
If you can afford -

If you wanna ride, just name your price don't play cheap, with your heart
Don't make a bet if you can't write the check, for me, for me.
Cuz I can be bought, but you'll pay the cost
If you can afford me...

Fine maybe I'm not your average girl that desperately needs a guy to survive and function. One could even say I'm too proud for my own good. I know I won't settle for a second rate Joe or an insecure Jerk seeking to boost his ego when know I deserve the best. But mostly, it's because I'm sick of the stupid mass media culture that dictates and ordains that one needs to have multiple boyfriends and needs a boyfriend to make the poor single girl's life more "whole". I think it's crap.

It'd rather die single or shag a sheep if the last human being on earth were a guy that I found distasteful. Ok fine maybe not the sheep shagging part but you get my drift right? I'm sick of good girls with substance and brains being reduced to dim witted feather headed ninnies in order to impress and nail some bloke who can hardly hold a decent conversation.

I do admit there are times when I do feel lonely and feel that being in a relationship might be the safest, warmest cocoon ever. But I'm quite stubborn when it comes to stuff like this. No amount of loneliness is going to compel me to couple up with a guy I couldn't imagine myself dating. It would be pointless, crude and quite moronic.

It defeats the point of us being human if the very basis for us choosing a "mate" is to reproduce mindlessly like apes and dogs. Being human we have a choice. We have a choice of whether to let our primal instincts floor our higher intellect or try to pursue that higher epiphany that requires harder grit-the task of choosing someone you have a true connection and that elusive "spark" with...I don't fancy myself to be anything more than I am. But I do know what I want. And what I want is to be HUMAN, in the best way possible.

Wise. Never settle! It's the saddest thing to observe someone who has done so just to avoid being alone. :)

I love what you've said because it couldn't be any true-er or any better-er. It's really COMPLETE, and it's like you transferred my deep-most thoughts onto your blog, really.
And way to go, Shag-A-Sheep.
